Aesthetic Medicine Buying Guide

November has officially arrived and with it comes the busiest shopping season of the year as people prepare for the holidays. Now is the perfect time to consider purchasing aesthetic medical procedures.

The growing acceptance of plastic surgery and other anti-aging techniques, along with the time of the year, has led to an increase in the number of cosmetic procedures that are given as holiday gifts. It is the gift that keeps on giving, well past the holiday season.

How to Give Aesthetic Services as a Gift

When giving the gift of plastic surgery, there are some rules. Even though your heart is in the right place, nothing will ruin Christmas morning quite like when they open their gift and think: “Gee, thanks. You think I’m ugly and need plastic surgery.” Yikes.

We are here to guide you through the shopping process, avoid misunderstandings, and make a physical memory that will last for years to come.

If you are considering giving someone in your life plastic surgery as a gift, follow these simple guidelines in the gift-giving process:

  1. Discuss the desired procedure in advance. If you bring it up without prior interest it may send the message that you don’t like how they look. You don’t want to them to be insulted at your gesture.
  2. Obtain additional information about that procedure through an initial consultation. Research plastic surgeons in your area. Plastic surgeons are board-certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery, which means they have undergone rigorous training, residency, fellowships, and are held to high ethical standards of medicine. Plastic surgery is a personal choice, and the patient should feel comfortable when selecting their surgeon.
  3. Pre-pay for a procedure your loved one usually gets, such as Botox or laser treatments. It can be a great gift if you prefer to have a gift card ready for them.

As exciting as the experience can be, shopping for aesthetic medical procedures is not like your regular holiday shopping. You can’t just walk in and pick out whatever you like. These procedures require medical consultations and our staff will not perform any treatment or procedure until the patient has been evaluated and determined to be a good candidate. Plastic surgery is a serious medical procedure and Dr. Dorner will consult with you to discuss the most practical and safe service that he can perform.
